So What Diet Should I Be On?

I get this question a lot.

The answer is . . .

The one that's right for you.

I know. That's probably not what you wanted to hear.

You wanted me to tell you what the perfect way to eat is.

The truth though, is that's different for everyone.

There are some basics that we all know though.

  • Eat lots of multi-colored vegetables and fruits (heavy on the veges, light on the fruit.)

  • Eat multiple types of quality proteins keeping animal based to a minimum especially processed meats (pepperoni, sausage, etc.) and beef.

  • Keep added sugar to a minimum.

  • Stay away from processed foods as much as possible (this includes breads, pasta, etc.)

The Mediterranean Diet seems to follow this most closely and it's the one that cardiologists, oncologists, and endocrinologists all seem to agree is healthy.

From there, you need to find out what works best for you.

  • When to eat what foods.

  • Portion sizes.

  • Eating all day or within a window.

  • Fasting every week or every month or not at all.

You are the best judge of what's right for you.

So. Track you energy levels, your mood, your brain power and see what's best for you.
